Support

Some supports are available to graduate students learning in the HIGO program as listed below. For further details, please contact the program office.

1. Scholarships

The HIGO program provides scholarships to qualified students for supporting their researches and trainings. The monthly stipends are ¥200,000 for a student of master's course and ¥200,000 for a student of doctoral course, in FY2014. The HIGO scholarship is subject to qualifications for receiving. Students receiving the HIGO scholarship must participate in the HIGO education and research program and not allowed to be supported by any other funding.

2. Travel Costs for Internships

Travel costs for internships are covered by the HIGO program for qualified graduates in the program.

3. Research Grants

For supporting excellent researches, outstanding research proposals of graduates in the course are eligible for research grants from the HIGO program.

4. Presenting and Publishing Research Results

The HIGO program covers costs for attending to academic meetings, publishing papers and applying patents after qualification processes.
*NOTICE: Only the HIGO Course Students (excluding associate students) can apply for a support for the overseas academic conferences.

5. Travel Awards

Deepening profundity of disciplinary research, promoting outstanding research which fits the goal of HIGO Program, and fostering research mindset as well as applicability, are one of the crucial objectives of HIGO Program.
HIGO Program supports the students by partially covering the cost of participating programs and projects which would lead to research ability upgrade.

6. Support for Foreign Students

Teaching staffs from foreign countries in Kumamoto University provide advice for the life in Kumamoto to graduates from abroad in the program.

7. Career Service

In cooperation with Human Resource Center for Innovation and Career Support Section, Kumamoto University, the HIGO program provides career advice to the graduates in the program.
