Venue: Lecture room(3F), General Medical Research Building
Abstract:
The main themes of the seminar are "calling" and "grit". Calling is defined as a consuming and meaningful passion, and grit is interpreted as perseverance. Studies on calling and grit have been increasing and show evidences that they play an important role in career development. The two themes will be discussed through two very different experiences. One is through World Bank's education projects and analytical work in South Asia and Africa regions. Mr. Saeki will discuss how "calling" and "grit" potentially affect performance of teachers and eventually student learning. The other is through global career planning and development experiences. "Calling" and "grit" seem to be fundamental elements contributing not only to successful job search or shushoku katsudo but also to future career development. Have you found your "calling" yet? How ready are you for global shushoku katsudo?
