Merck Serono is the biopharmaceutical division of German chemical group Merck.
Lecturer had worked for the world's largest company, a contract research organization (CRO).She has experiences about clinical monitor, clinical trial design and management, as a clinical research associate (CRA).
She is now working as the manager of the Japan department of Merk Serono, for quality control in clinical study, medical writing, document management and developer training.

In this decade, globalization in the pharmaceutical industry has dramatically advanced. Meanwhile, there is an increasing trend toward the importance of globalizing enterprises to enhance the objective understanding of local uniqueness of Japan.
Glocal career development can be considered as a strategic concept by which we can build our career to transform local uniqueness of Japan into our strength even in the globalized labor market.
In this presentation, we introduce clinical research associate as a typical glocal career in the pharmaceutical industry, along with examples of subsequent career path based on the presenter's experiences. Furthermore, we discuss how we can strategically identify the best options for individual career advancement at each crucial moment in life.
